On September 20, 1988, five practitioners advised by Leon Letoto began their search to fully experience life's challenges through the practice of Chinese healing arts. The White Cloud Chamber at first focused on instruction in traditional Chinese health practices but has since broadened its mission to include Chinese dance and other aspects of Chinese culture. These founding members later formed the Hawaii Foundation for Chinese Culture and Arts, a non-profit vehicle for teaching and learning about Chinese heritage through personal participation.
The goal of WCC is to promote a healthy lifestyle through disease prevention and to appreciate life as a constant and gradual process. The program integrates practical aspects of Chinese medicine into a daily regimen of exercise and diet. Members benefit from a broad spectrum of traditional arts that include Yijing, herbology, acupuncture, moxibustion, Daoyin exercise, meditation, and massage. |
